Aaron Watson Makes Grand Ole Opry Debut March 31
Aaron Watson - "a proud country traditionalist" (New York Times) - is gearing up for the Feb. 17 release of his 12th album, 'The Underdog.' Produced with Keith Stegall (Alan Jackson, George Jones, Zac Brown), the 14-track album is "reminiscent of George Strait and Chris Ledoux" (Country Weekly) and has earned the Texas troubadour a Spotify "Spotlight on 2015" selection and his Grand Ole Opry debut on March 31.
"I'm thrilled about getting to perform on the Grand Ole Opry next month," shares Watson. "I've looked forward to this night ever since I can remember; it's going to be a dream come true."
In the meantime, Watson continues to tour his way across the country with a stop in Nashville for "Sam's Place" at the historic Ryman Auditorium on Sunday, February 15th with Steven Curtis Chapman.
Known for his relentless work ethic and love of faith and family, Watson performs over 150 shows annually and has collaborated with special guests like Willie Nelson, Dale Watson, Jack Ingram, and Billy Joe Shaver. He's cracked the Top 10 on the Billboard 200 and sold hundreds of thousands of tickets, all as an independent artist on his own label.
"'The Underdog' has taught me a lot of lessons," says Watson. "I'm excited about this record. To be 15 years, 12 albums, and 2000 shows into my career and to feel like I'm just getting started, man that's a good feeling."
